The prerequisite for obtaining a visa is that your business idea holds economic significance or fulfills a regional need, or that it will positively impact the German economy. If you intend to work as a freelancer in Germany, you will need to provide details of project financing and obtain the necessary authorization for your freelance work. If you meet these requirements, you can apply for freelance work, and after a thorough examination, you will be granted a residence permit in accordance with Section 21 (5) of the Residence Act.

f you are aged 45 or older, you must also demonstrate that you have sufficient retirement savings. Initially, these residence permits are granted for three years and can later be converted into a permanent residence permit.
