TRAINING VISA

As a third-country national, you have the option of obtaining a visa to engage in in-company training in Germany. To do so, you must possess a school-leaving certificate obtained abroad that is recognized as equivalent to a German qualification. Additionally, you need to have a language proficiency level of at least B1 and obtain approval from the Federal Employment Agency. However, if your goal is to pursue a profession at a Vocational college or a comparable institution, no consent is required. Following the completion of your vocational training, you have the opportunity to stay in Germany for one year and search for a job that aligns with your training. You can apply for the necessary residence permit at the appropriate Foreigners’ Registration Office. During this period, you are permitted to engage in gainful employment to support your livelihood.

Additional work during training:

During your training in Germany, you can work an additional 10 hours per week in your own training company or in another company. This allows vocational students to earn some extra money to support their livelihood. If you find a job that matches your qualifications, you can apply for a residence permit at the Foreigners’ Registration Office.

Application process:

As an applicant from a non-EU country, you require a visa for vocational training in Germany. First, you must find a suitable apprenticeship in Germany and submit your application to the company. If the feedback is positive, the company will arrange an interview.

If the interview is successful, you will be issued an apprenticeship or employment contract, which you can then submit to the German embassy or consulate, along with other required documents, to apply for a visa.
